  Fair Oaks Fiesta

POSTPONED until the Measure J Project in the Fair Oaks Village will be complete

Fair Oaks Fiesta was established in 1949 to help raise money for a community swimming pool. The chamber of commerce took over the event in the late 50's and has organized the event since then. The event was a 4 day event, then a 3 day, then 2 days and then finally changed to a 1 day event back in 2016 - the reason for these changes was the declining participation from the participants and spectators for the event. The cost and volunteers seriously declined from years past and the competition of other community events and recreational sports has become more of a priority to others. The Board of Directors felt it was right to kept the event but to change it and do it all in one day which since 2016 has grown to a more successful event for all to enjoy.

*Back in 2019 we were planning the future of the Fiesta due to the Measure J Project that was going to take place in the Spring of 2020 by the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District (FORPD). This project was voted on the Nov 2018 ballot for by the tax payers of Fair Oaks. Unfortunately, the happenings of the 2020/2021 events, forced us to cancel the traditional Fair Oaks Fiesta and the Measure J Project was put on hold. In 2022 the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District Measure J project has finally broken ground and is scheduled to be an 18 month project. You can find out more details here on the updates. The Board of Directors has decided until this project is complete we will not have the Fair Oaks Fiesta event. This event is organized by volunteers of the Chamber and Community, and the cost to put on the event is very very expensive. The board of directors have agreed that it is the right thing to do, for the safety of our participants, and spectators and all involved in the event. The Village Parks, Amphitheatre, Community Clubhouse are all under construction, the streets, parking etc are all effected and there is no areas to utilize to have the event, to make it safe and enjoyable for all until the construction is done in the village. In the meantime the Chamber is working on ways to stay connected to the community through other events that we host and we hope that in the Spring of 2024 or even 2025 we will be back. We appreciate your understanding during this time.
