I’m Jimmy Larkin and I’m this years Jr Honorary Mayor and President of the Fair Oaks Youth Outreach. I’m a Junior at Del Campo High school and this is my second year with FOYO. I’ve lived in Fair Oaks for many years and love helping the community in any way possible and this group is a great way to do that.
Those who have been Jr. Honorary Mayor since 2015 are simply Youth Ambassadors for the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce and for the Fair Oaks Community, these young gentlemen and ladies represent the chamber and our community. This is a mentored program that is sponsored and ran by a group of local Business leaders in our area. Being Jr. Honorary Mayor you learn communication skills, work skills and life skills, they get to earn community service hours and help with local projects.
Jr. Honorary Mayor's - attend Chamber events and Mixers, they help with jobs needed by the youth. They also get to help at our concerts in the park and support our Honorary Mayor candidates, they get to work with other youth at these events and help come up with ideas to help us get more youth involved. This program if followed out by the youth that holds this title will receive a scholarship at the end of their 1 year term.
The youth are our Future of Fair Oaks and we are always looking for young youth who would like to be a part of this program.
