Dog Walk Participant Registration

The Fair Oaks Dog Walk is held the first Saturday of October, rain or shine. We encourage our participants to pre-register to guarantee they will receive an event goodie bag. Check-in and onsite registration the day of the event begins at 8:30 a.m., and the walk starts at 9:00 a.m.

Rules of Participation

Have your dog’s current Proof of Rabies Vaccination Certificate (6 mos or older).
An adult (18 or older) must be in control of your dog.
Keep your dog on a 6′ or shorter leash at all times.
Clean up after your dog.
Walking with only one dog is highly recommended.
Bring your dog only if he or she will enjoy being around other people and dogs.
Walk the course only if you and your dog are in adequate physical condition.
Read and agree to our event waiver (on the printed registration form and below).

Registration Fees

First dog per family:

$10 with advance registration
$15 day of the event

Second dog: $5

Tee shirts are also available for $15. These feature a new design each year and can be purchased in advance and picked up the day of the event. Limited quantities will be available on a first come first serve basis at the event.

Event Agreement
I understand that participating in the Fair Oaks Dog Walk includes an element of risk for both my dog and myself. I will not participate unless the dog and I are properly conditioned for this walk. I agree to abide by any decision of an event official relative to my and my dog’s ability to complete the walk safely, and I further agree that event officials may authorize necessary emergency treatment for my dog or myself. I also understand that vehicle, bicycle and spectator traffic may be present at the course and I assume any and all risks associated with participating under such conditions. I further assume any and all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to illness, traveling to and from the event, falls, contact with spectators, other participants or dogs, the effects of weather (including temperature extremes and humidity) and the surface conditions of the roads and pathways. I understand all such risks and that other risks may exist that are not stated above.
Having read the above and in consideration of the acceptance of my entry fee and my participation in this event, I agree that neither I, my heirs, my executors, administrators, nor anyone else claiming a right on my behalf will file a lawsuit, action or administrative proceeding against the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce, FORDOG (Fair Oaks Responsible Dog Owner’s Group), T.E.A.M. (Teaching Everyone Animals Matter), the Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks District, the County of Sacramento, event officials and volunteers, event sponsors, event suppliers, and agents and employees of the foregoing parties, and waive, release, and discharge the foregoing parties and persons from any and all loss, liability, damages, or costs arising out of or related to my participation in this event, including but not limited to all claims arising out of the negligence or carelessness of any of the persons or parties named in this waiver.
I verify that my participating dog has a current license and rabies vaccinations. I further verify that I am at least 18 years of age and agree that, during the event, I or another person aged 18 or older will at all times be in control of my participating dog. I agree that I will keep my participating dog on a leash, six feet in length or shorter. I agree to abide by all rules of the event.
